The Morton Family Blog

Thanks for taking time and stopping by and reading our family blog. As a family of 6 we are busy and hope to encourge everyone to understand that everyone is different in his or her own way and that people shouldn't be looked at for their size but for their selves. Our youngest daughter Jalinn was born with dwarfism and we hope to raise awareness for the Little People community.

Serve2011

This past Sunday our church did community service throughout our city of Archie.  We cleaned up trash that was on the side of the roads and in the creeks and by the railroad tracks and all over the city.  We had 41 people from all ages help out.  It was wonderful to help serve God but also my community.  Since Jason had to work I had all 4 kiddo's with me, thankful Whitney and Kendall where there to help out with the kids.  All 41 of us split up into teams that where color codes for each area and got to work.  We had the BLUE area so we named ourselves the BLUE CREW.  It was a lot of fun.  I can only hope that my kiddo's got something from it and will contuine to want to give back.  Our goal was to see if anyone would stop and help us out, sad to say that didn't happen but we had several people stop and say thank you.  It was a great feeling to get just the thank you's.

Hunter's First Day of Preschool 2011

Yesterday we got to meet Hunter's teachers for the first time and then today is Hunter's first day of preschool.  We have been talking about him going to school and he is so excited about starting.  I am so happy for him. For the longest he had such a hard time if I had to leave him to go anywhere and now is he is ready to grow up and be a big boy.  He is going to preschool in the afternoons so before school started I took him to McDonalds for lunch.  I used to do this with the girls on their first day of school but we would go for breakfast.  We had a great time at lunch and then it was off to school.  When we pulled up in the parking lot he said to me "okay bye mom" I told him that I was going to walk him into to school and he said "alright".  I think he thought he was going to do it all by himself.  Once we got into school he was fine.  He went right to the table and started to play.  There was another little boy there named Hunter and they told that was cool.  My baby is growing up.  Now I just have Jalinn at home in the afternoons.

Taylor and Kaylie...cheerleaders

This year the girls are cheering for the Archie Youth Football Teams.  They are having so much fun at cheering.  Here are a few pics of my girls as Archie Cheerleaders.

The girls first day of school August 2011

With us switching school years in the middle of the school year last year we where all looking forward to starting this school year.  I can't believe Taylor is in 6th and Kaylie is in 3rd grade.  Where has the time gone.  We had back to school night a couple of nights before actually started and it was great to meet the girls teacher and walk around the school.  I still feel a little out of place with it not being ClerMont (our old school).  Nothing can beat the teachers and principal at ClerMont.  We miss them everyday but are looking forward to making friends at Archie like we did at ClerMont.  Here is to a good and fun school year.
